On February 6, two powerful earthquakes erupted throughout Türkiye and Syria over the span of nine hours. In one of the deadliest earthquakes in over 20 years, over 47,000 have died and more than hundreds of thousands have been injured. Over 20 million have been displaced. One of the main areas struck was Gaziantep, a city millions of Syrian refugees call home. 

The Islamic Cultural Center of Greater Chicago is collecting funds for urgent assistance to the people of Türkiye and Syria.
