Alhamdulillah, the most anticipated month of the year is upon us! The Islamic Cultural Center of Greater Chicago invites you and your family to join us as we welcome Ramadan 2026. This is a sacred time for spiritual renewal, deep reflection, and community connection as we commemorate the revelation of the Holy Quran.
Our communal observance will begin on the evening of Wednesday, February 18, with the first Taraweeh prayers starting at 7:30 pm. This spiritual kickoff prepares our hearts for the first day of fasting, which will commence at dawn on Thursday, February 19.
What to Expect:
- Nightly Taraweeh: Join our congregation every night for the special Ramadan prayers following Isha.
- Spiritual Growth: Engage in daily Quranic recitations, reflections, and increased acts of worship designed to bring us closer to Allah (SWT).
- Community & Charity: Ramadan is a time of heightened generosity. We encourage all members to participate in our charitable initiatives and community programs throughout the month.
- Shared Iftars: Look out for announcements regarding community iftar dinners, providing a beautiful opportunity to break your fast with your brothers and sisters in faith.
Important Reminders:
- Punctuality: For the first night of Taraweeh on Feb 18, please arrive by 7:15 pm to ensure you find parking and a space in the prayer hall.
- Zakat al-Fitr: Remember to fulfill this obligation during the month to support those in need within our community.
We pray that Allah (SWT) allows us all to reach this month in good health and accepts our fasting, prayers, and good deeds.
Ramadan Kareem to you and your loved ones!
